Active Channels are ways of getting information sent directly to your desktop when the pages are updated.  All of this without any work from you. You can have this information sent to your desktop automatically, or by email, or both.  You can even set the page to be your screensaver.  That's right, the vintage boat of the week can be on your screen when you are idle.
